Current Environment: Production

Our Values

Our laboratory is dedicated to establishing and maintaining an equitable and inclusive environment, where diversity is not only recognized but also celebrated. We firmly believe that the presence of diverse perspectives and experiences enhances the advancement of our scientific endeavors.

Commitments to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

My dedication to fostering an inclusive and equitable scientific environment is rooted in my personal journey. As a woman of color and an immigrant, I have encountered many challenges throughout my career. Finding my voice and establishing a sense of belonging was a struggle. I have been fortunate to find supportive mentors who have provided invaluable guidance along the way. This is why I am deeply committed to assisting individuals like myself, who hail from underserved and underrepresented communities, in their pursuit of success in academia. I also firmly believe that embracing neurological diversity is equally crucial. It is imperative to provide support and encouragement to individuals who are neurologically atypical, enabling them to pursue careers in science. I aspire to offer unwavering support, guidance, and motivation to people in my lab and in our scientific communities, ensuring that academia is welcoming for all.
