Dr. Bo Zhang’s scientific career has been dedicated to developing innovative biostatistical methodologies for the design and analysis of clinical trials, longitudinal data analysis, and machine learning algorithms for predictive analytics. Dr. Zhang also collaborates with other investigators in clinical and translational research, providing high-quality support on clinical research design and data analysis methodologies. Dr. Zhang has authored over 180 peer-reviewed publications in top-tier methodological and clinical journals. As a principal investigator, Dr. Zhang received an extramural research grant from the NIH, a highly competitive FDA intramural research grant, and a research foundation grant. Through collaborative research, Dr. Zhang has contributed as a co-investigator and biostatistician to more than 25 extramural research grants, collectively amounting to over $25 million.

With extensive expertise in biostatistics and clinical data science, Dr. Bo Zhang is currently a Scientist in the Department of Neurology and the Biostatistics and Research Design (BARD) Center at Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH) and an Associate Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School. Prior to joining BCH, Dr. Zhang held the role of Mathematical Statistician and Scientific Reviewer in the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and also served as a tenure-track Assistant Professor at the University of Massachusetts (UMass) Chan Medical School. At BCH, Dr. Zhang is the in-house lead biostatistician exclusively for the Department of Neurology, supporting and collaborating with more than 75 child neurologist faculty members and their clinical and post-doctoral fellows. Additionally, Dr. Zhang is the Director of Biostatistics Services of the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Center at BCH.
