Improving Surgery Systems in Ethiopia
The Program in Global Surgery and Social Change (PGSSC) has team representatives in Ethiopia who are engaged in pilot projects in two states, with potential for expansion, and national healthcare policy planning. Local collaborators include the Surgical Society of Ethiopia, Anesthesia Society of Ethiopia, and Obstetric Society of Ethiopia. On a larger scale, we partner with Jhpiego, Assist International, G4 Alliance, Dalberg consultants, and GE Foundation to evaluate and provide recommendations for implementation of policy planning. The developing partnership with the Ethiopian Ministry of Health allows for continued success and a positive project trajectory.
