Randy worked for a number of health plans, including Blue Cross Blue Shield and Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare, for over twenty years while living in Boston before moving to Vermont to work for the University of Vermont Medical Center.

Randy has a BSBA from the University of Florida, an MBA from Suffolk University and an MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health. He met his wife, Karen, while working at Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare and has a daughter, Emma, who graduated from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.
