Ryan Nagy, MD, MBA, is the President and System Chief Operations Officer for Boston Children’s Hospital and our system parent organization, Children’s Medical Center Corporation. Dr. Nagy is a voting member of our Board of Trustees.

Dr. Nagy helps define our connected operational structure, integrating stakeholders from across the organization to facilitate unified decision-making and collaboration. In partnership with CEO Kevin B. Churchwell, MD, and in close collaboration with our EVP operational leaders and our physician Chiefs, Dr. Nagy works to implement national and international growth strategies through new business development and partnerships while balancing financial stewardship and responsibility.

Dr. Nagy brings over a decade of experience from Indiana University (IU) Health, where he served as President of the medical center since 2016. IU Health Medical Center has been ranked #1 in Indiana by U.S. News & World Report since 2012 and plays a critical role in training more than 1,000 residents and fellows annually in partnership with the IU School of Medicine. 

Under his guidance, IU Health Medical Center increased its market share, substantially enhanced quality and safety metrics, and sustained strong financial performance. Additionally, he has served as Executive in Charge of a multi-billion-dollar construction project at IU Health, one of the largest hospital projects in the nation. Previously, Dr. Nagy held the positions of Chief Medical Officer at IU Health Medical Center and Chief of Anesthesiology at University Hospital, and he has been an Assistant Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology at the IU School of Medicine since 2012.

Dr. Nagy earned his MD from Indiana University School of Medicine, his MBA from Indiana University Kelley School of Business, and his BA in Economics from Indiana University. He completed his Fellowship in Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain at Virginia Mason Medical Center, and his Residency in Anesthesiology at IU School of Medicine.
