A full range of associated services is offered:

  • The Adolescent/Young Adult Medical Practice provides expert evaluation and medical treatment for more than 16,000 visits at Longwood and 4,000 visits at satellite locations to provide primary and complex care for adolescents and young adult patients, ages 10 to 25.

  • The Eating Disorders Program provides comprehensive medical and psychological evaluation and treatment to patients with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, avoidance restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), binge eating disorder, and related eating difficulties, and is the largest outpatient eating disorders program in New England.

  • The Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) Program is one of the only multidisciplinary programs in the country specifically devoted to caring for patients between ages 6 and 18 who have difficulty eating or feeding.

  • The Reproductive Endocrinology and PCOS Program provides diagnostic assessment and management of menstrual problems, polycystic ovary syndrome, hormonal problems, and low bone density, as well as educational materials and monthly chats.

  • The Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) Program provides care to patients interested in obtaining an intrauterine device (IUD) or the contraceptive implant.

  • The Young Women with Bleeding Clinic (in collaboration with Hematology and Gynecology) is designed to offer a collaborative approach to the diagnosis and management of heavy menstrual bleeding in young women.

  • The STEP Clinic is a weight and lifestyle management program that is part of the Adolescent/Young Adult Medicine clinic. The STEP approach is personalized and includes the specialties of medicine, nutrition, and behavioral health.

  • The Boston HAPPENS Program provides clinical care to HIV positive and at-risk youth and offers HIV counseling and testing onsite.

  • The Bone Health Program evaluates children and adolescents who have, or are at risk for, low bone density.

  • The Adolescent Medicine Complex Diagnosis Consult Program is a consultative service that we offer to patients with a variety of special needs.

  • The Clinic for Interactive Media and Internet Disorders (CIMAID) evaluates children, adolescents, and young adults whose excessive online activities have caused problems with sleep, school, social functioning, and various other aspects of physical and mental health.

  • The Center for Young Women's Health offers health information to adolescent girls and their parents onsite and through the youngwomenshealth.org website.
