Referring a patient
Thank you for entrusting Boston Children’s Hospital to partner with you on your patient’s care.
Our specialists are available to assist you and your patients with an array of services. You may refer patients to the hospital, to a particular service or to an individual specialist for consultation, diagnosis or treatment.
Make a referral
To refer a patient to a specific Boston Children's specialist, please call the phone number listed for that specialist in our Find a Doctor online directory. If you need help navigating to the right department, please call the Physician Referral Line at 844-BCH-PEDS (844-224-7337), Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m EST.
To assist with complex referrals that need clinical follow up, our practice liaison nursing team, is available to ensure the patient is seen by the appropriate Boston Children’s department, clinic, or specialty program. Additionally, our nursing team is able to provide care coordination for patients traveling from across the U.S. with complex medical needs, and those requiring multiple appointments during their visit.
